UX Engineer @ Oomph

I am a UX Engineer at Oomph, Inc. a web agency based in Providence, RI. My primary focus is on Drupal site building and theme development. In this role, I get to collaborate with both the back-end engineering and design teams. Some things I am constantly thinking about are client usability, user accessibility, and internal team maintenance of a site. These topics stem from years of working on teams with both in-house and remote co-workers, training clients, and maintaining Drupal sites such as Leica Geosystems [https://lasers.leica-geosystems.com/], NewportFILM [https://www.newportfilm.com/], Sailors for the Sea [https://www.sailorsforthesea.org/], and Keep America Beautiful [https://www.kab.org/] over the past 9+ years.

I've presented talks at New England Drupal Camp [http://nedcamp.org/] and Drupal Providence [https://www.meetup.com/DrupalPVD/] with sessions on accessibility and base themes. I am also a co-creator of ColorCube [https://oomphinc.github.io/colorcube/], an accessibility tool to test a set of colors for contrast based on the WCAG 2.0 guidelines.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my cat and family, going to the beach in the summer, listening to audiobooks, and doing crafts. I am on the Board of Directors for Batten Disease Research [https://www.facebook.com/HopeLoveHelpBatten/], a 501(c)3 non-profit organization raising awareness and funds in hope to find a cure for this neurological hereditary disease.
